I cherish the sense of community that arises from so many people preparing a single recipe each month. For June, we’re kicking off the challenge with our delectable coleslaw recipe, and I can’t wait for you to join in on the fun. Here’s how it works:
Join the Love & Lemons Cooking Club
- Each month, I select one seasonal recipe. Sign up for our email list to stay updated once I share the recipe.
- Prepare the recipe during the month.
- Leave a comment on the challenge recipe’s blog post by the end of the month. This time, the deadline is June 30!
- For a bonus entry, send a picture of your dish to cookingclub@loveandlemons.com.
- For another bonus entry, share your photo on Instagram, tagging @loveandlemons and #loveandlemonscookingclub.
The Prize: A $100 Whole Foods Gift Card!
At the end of the month, I’ll select a winner randomly and showcase some of your beautiful photos. This month, our prize is a $100 Whole Foods gift card.
Additionally, for every entry we receive, we’ll donate $1 to No Kid Hungry.
This month’s recipe is my creamy coleslaw. Fun fact: I’m obsessed with coleslaw! I adore the mix of crisp veggies with a creamy, sweet, and tangy dressing, plus how the slaw becomes creamier the longer it sits. I’ll be whipping this up for picnics and cookouts all month long. I hope you’ll try it too!
A few recipe notes:
- I usually shred the veggies myself, but feel free to use pre-shredded slaw mix for a quick shortcut.
- Make coleslaw ahead of time—it’s best enjoyed on day 2!
- I use mayo in the dressing. If you’re looking for a vegan alternative, check out my vegan coleslaw recipe.

Last Month’s Recipe
Last month, we prepared tostadas! This was a choose-your-own-adventure challenge, and many of you had fun experimenting with different toppings. Here’s a glimpse of some creative twists:
