What is the Love & Lemons Cooking Club?
Our Cooking Club is a fun way to celebrate the Love & Lemons community of readers. Each month, a recipe is chosen for members to cook, share, and comment on. At the end of the month, a winner will be randomly selected to receive a prize!
December Challenge: Creamy Potato Soup
We’re kicking off our December challenge with a cozy and comforting dish: Creamy Potato Soup. Here’s how it works:
How to Participate
- Each month, a seasonal recipe is selected. Make sure to sign up for our email list to stay updated.
- Make the chosen recipe during the month.
- Leave a comment on the recipe’s blog post by the end of the month (the deadline is December 31!).
- For a bonus entry, send a picture of your dish to cookingclub@loveandlemons.com.
- For another bonus entry, share your photo on Instagram, tagging @loveandlemons and #loveandlemonscookingclub.
The Prize: A $100 Whole Foods Gift Card!
At the end of the month, a winner will be announced and shared along with some of your photos. This time, the prize is a $100 Whole Foods gift card!
Additionally, for every entry received, we’ll donate $1 to No Kid Hungry.
About the Recipe
Here’s the fantastic part: you can make this creamy potato soup in three delicious ways:
- Classic: A rich and creamy soup made with all-purpose flour and heavy cream.
- Dairy-free: Use vegan butter and replace the cream with unsweetened plant-based milk (almond milk works great!). Start with 2/3 cup and adjust to reach your desired consistency.
- Gluten-free: Swap all-purpose flour for a 1-to-1 gluten-free flour blend (King Arthur is a great choice!).
Personalize Your Soup
This recipe can be treated like a loaded baked potato in soup form—feel free to top it with:
- Dollops of vegan sour cream
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Chives or green onions
- Vegan bacon bits (if prepared in advance)
